A SYNOPSIS OF THE HOMILY DELIVERED AT ST. CHARLES BORROMEO MINOR SEMINARY, MADAKIYA, ON THE OCCASION OF HER 2024 SPEECH AND PRIZE-GIVING DAY BY REV. FR. RICHARD GOKUM, PhD, OF SOKOTO DIOCESE.
During his homily, he admonished the graduands to be ready to embrace the reality and challenges of life because the world is a mixture of the good, the bad and the ugly. He further enjoined them to be good ambassadors of the great institution.
Fr reminded all present during the Mass and, by extension the occasion proper, especially parents and guardians of the graduating students that St. Charles is a school to reckon with. As such, the school expects all parents to keep patronizing the school in order to keep alive the dream of our late Bishop, the Most Rev. Dr. Joseph D. Bagobiri, of blessed memory.
Finally, the students were advised to be disciplined, God-fearing and industrious, as these are the only virtues and ingredients that would keep their hope alive!
The annual publication of the school called "The Ethos Magazine" was formally unveiled titled "Character Formation: Role of Parents in Promoting Patriotism in Nigeria" by Mr Bijimi, the representative of the Chief Unveiler, Rev. Fr Basor Emmanuel, an Old Boy of the school. There were presentations to the listening delight of all parents.
